All donors are screened for a minimum of HIV, and hepatitis, and syphilis and found to be negative prior to producing the samples.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All donors have\nconsented to the use of their semen for research purposes; however, they cannot\nbe used for the following types of research:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Stem cell research<\/li><li>Creation of embryos for stem cells or embryo research projects<\/li><li>In vitro fertilization of oocytes<\/li><li>Insemination purposes for the creation of a pregnancy<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Samples can\nbe used for the following types of research:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Source of DNA for research purposes<\/li><li>Forensic testing laboratories or proficiency testing for the forensic industry<\/li><li>Fertility clinics for media testing<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Contact us directly to see if your research study would qualify.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Semen Sample Packaging<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Pre-frozen\nsamples are packaged in 1ml plastic vials containing 0.5 ml\/vial and a minimum\nof 60 million cells. Vials are labeled with donor number\/production date\/vial\n#\/production lab code. Frozen samples are available with or without seminal\nplasma. Choose from the 2 preparation types below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>ICI Premium, ICI ART, or ICSI Unwashed prep: containing the neat (raw semen) sample plus cryoprotectant (glycerol)<\/li><li>IUI Premium, IUI ART, ICSI Washed: seminal plasma removed prior to freezing and sperm cells suspended in a buffer solution plus cryoprotectant (glycerol)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Sperm Vial Ordering Logistics<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Pre-frozen\nvials are available immediately, whether the samples are from a single donor\nover time or multiple donors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For orders requesting matching semen and blood from the same donor, vials are available upon request and must be pre-ordered. In addition, frozen pooled (multiple donors) semen without cryoprotectant must be pre-ordered as well. These two request types are priced\/ml separately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Pricing<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Price for research semen vials is available upon request. Fairfax Cryobank accepts money order, credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover), and PO by request only. Vials must be pre-paid prior to shipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Shipment<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Depending on your location, local pickup may be available. All other research vials will be shipped in liquid nitrogen vapor tanks or on dry ice.
