What is your most memorable childhood experience? | One of my favorite childhood memories was open-air dinners in our house while it was being built. My family would pack a picnic of sorts and eat together after family hikes or gardening. |
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why? | My father. He has had one of the most amazing lives I've ever heard of and is a constant source of inspiration- mainly because he has remained so grounded in spite of his many otherworldly experiences. |
What character traits do you admire in an individual? | Honesty. I strongly believe that honesty and courage are almost synonymous because the truth is often scary. If someone is able to be honest with others (and themselves) they show immense bravery. |
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? | I was nominated to be man of the year in my high school and we had to showcase a special skill. Jokingly, I said I was a talented hugger whose hugs could change lives. I asked my assistant to choose volunteers to showcase my skill and they ended up choosing the superintendent of my school district. I proceeded to lovingly hug the man to the deafening laughter of 10,000 classmates. |
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why? | I would sail the world. I love the night sky and the freedom a boat offers. The ocean is also mysterious in ways other places are not, which intrigues me. |
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? | A thoughtfulness about the world. Many people live their lives on cruise control. I want them to soak in the incredible richness of life. |
