The child has no other health concerns and has not been evaluated by genetics or pursued genetic testing. The donor denies that any of his immediate or extended family has autism. This is the first reported case of autism in a DCP related to this donor. Given the high frequency of autism in the general population and that this is the first report out of many births for this donor, the risk for recurrence in the donor's other offspring, though unknown, appears to be minimal. |
