What is your most memorable childhood experience? | My most memorable childhood experience was going to pick out a puppy from a litter, then getting to sit in the back of the car with him on the way home. He was a great dog! I now have two dogs of my own. |
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why? | I identify most with my mother. She and I have the most in common among my immediate family members. We work hard and take our jobs seriously and complement that with our desire to have fun. We also share a love for the outdoors, and a knack for figuring things out when presented with challenges. |
What character traits do you admire in an individual? | I admire independence, confidence, positivity, and open-mindedness. I pride myself in being independent, and I look for that in others. I also think life is better when you are loving and accepting, so I am drawn towards open-minded individuals. |
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? | On a tour of the White House as a young child with my family, I stopped for a few moments to look out of a window. I then continued the tour following another family, thinking it was my own. I ended up being escorted by Secret Service to my family who were waiting for me at the end of the tour. |
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why? | I would travel throughout rural USA. I've spent most of my life in large cities and feel there is still much to see in less-populated areas of the country. And I love to drive! |
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? | I want to pass on curiosity, gentleness, independence. I believe curiosity is the greatest inspiration. I also believe the world needs more gentle minds. |
