Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience?I spent time during the summer with my family at my grandparents’ house. They had a great pool in the backyard that my cousins and I would swim in for hours until it was dark and cold. We would always have some type of BBQ for dinner and be able to spend the entire day together.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I identify most with my dad. We are very similar in physical looks, mannerisms and ways of thinking. There have been so many times over the course of my life that I have told my dad about a specific issue or problem I am dealing with and often he has dealt with or is dealing with the same issue. That could be anything from lower back pain to being a perfectionist at work.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?I admire loyalty, drive, and discipline. I think it is essential for anyone I'm around or spend quality time with to be loyal. Being able to trust someone is the most important thing in any relationship. I think of myself as a very driven person, in my career as well as the personal goals I set for myself, I admire someone who has goals and is not afraid to go after them. Discipline is very important in my life; I don't think you are able to reach your full potential without a certain level of discipline. I plan to instill all these traits into my children.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?I can't think of one specific thing, but my fiancé and I are constantly laughing. We have a puppy that is one of the most entertaining things in our lives, but we also just like to sit and laugh at movies or even something ridiculous on social media.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?I would travel to Egypt. I have always wanted to see the pyramids and learn about that time in history. I am amazed at what people of that time were able to accomplish. I think the fact that the ancient Egyptians were able to construct the pyramids without any present-day technology is one of the most interesting facts in our human history. It is something I've thought and read a lot about and hopefully someday we'll have an answer as to how they were able to do that.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?I would like my children to know what it's like to work hard for something, I think learning that early in life is extremely important because it shows them that even if something seems difficult, with hard work you can achieve it. I am a firm believer that nothing in life that is worth having comes easily. I would also like for them to be good people and considerate of others, there is a balance in life between doing what you have to do to protect and better yourself, but also keeping others in mind and being able to put people before yourself.
