What is your most memorable childhood experience?My most memorable childhood experiences are summer days spent at my grandparents’ house. My parents would frequently take me over to my grandparents’ house on the weekends and I would spend the day swimming, eating delicious food, and drinking fresh-brewed iced tea.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?The family member I most closely identify with is my father. My father and I are similar and we share many of the same qualities, values, and interests. My father and I both enjoy sports and the outdoors. My father’s traits of being organized, detail oriented, reliable, and responsible have become traits that I proudly display in my everyday life. My father is my idol.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?The character traits I admire in an individual are responsibility, perseverance, conscientiousness, reliability, and authenticity. Responsibility because it is important to accept your career, personal, and societal obligations no matter how uncomfortable or difficult they may be. Perseverance because it is important to possess persistence and determination to continue on with a particular course of action no matter how difficult or uncomfortable it may be in order to achieve your goal. Conscientiousness because it is important to have the desire to perform well, or at a minimum to the best of your ability, in every situation, no matter the circumstances based on your principles. The key qualities of conscientiousness include being organized, efficient, thorough, and observant. Reliability because it is important for others to be able to depend on you to follow through on your promises, decisions, actions, and commitments. Authenticity because it is important to be yourself. All individuals should be sincere and self-aware.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?When I was between the ages of five and eleven, my family would visit the lake and spend the weekend on the boat and jet skis. Some weekends we visited the cliffs, which were a wall of steep rocks that you could climb up and jump off of at different heights into the lake. Most times, I would jump off one of the lower cliffs. One time, I managed to climb up to the highest level cliff and jumped off. My parents were in disbelief that I had done so, since I had never been remotely close to the highest cliff before. As a kid, I think I even surprised myself when I jumped off the highest cliff. This is one of the funniest things that has happened to me in my life.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?If time and money were not an issue, I would travel to those areas around the world where I could help those who are less fortunate. Some of these countries include Uganda, Madagascar, and Haiti. I would like to teach English, sports, and new skills to citizens, and provide nutritious foods to families.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?When and if I have children, I would like to pass on my traits, values, and wisdom to them. I feel as though I possess traits, values, and wisdom that would be valuable to my future children. Values such as responsibility, reliability, dependability, commitment, and sincerity will lead them to live positive and successful lives.
