| What is your most memorable childhood experience? | Fortunately, I have a great memory of my childhood that had a positive influence on my life. I remember that I used to go to a picnic every Saturday with my family. My parents liked to go to a small town/village outside the city. We went to the park and mountains near my house. My mother woke my brother and I up early in the morning to get ready. We all wore the same colored shirts and jeans; although I felt it was embarrassing. I learned how to ride a bicycle from my father. During those days he also taught me fishing, hiking, and even how to ride a horse. In addition, my parents liked to have family trips to different states instead of forcing me to study at home. While my father drove, we had a lot of great conversations in the car. My father brought our family to various places so that I could widen my perspective towards life and make me more open-minded. Although I was not aware of how precious the moments were at the time, I am now able to tell how it important they were in my life. Through the time we were together, I learned how a true family works together and helps each other out. This is the reason why my best friends are my siblings and I can talk to them and confide in them with everything. |
| What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why? | I'm close to one of my uncles, who is my friend, mentor and a good guidance to me. We have a very unique relationship and I am very thankful for it. We share fun stories and crack jokes about random things, usually about things that other people would not find funny but we find hilarious. |
| What character traits do you admire in an individual? | 1) Caring and Loyal: I have always been a loyal person. I'm loyal to people who are in my life. I am also a caring person, I care about the people who are in my life. I just like to know if people are doing all right. 2) Conscientiousness: A tendency to show self-discipline, act dutifully, and aim for achievement; planned rather than spontaneous behavior. 3) Devoted and Hard-Working: Someone who is devoted to make a difference in which they believe in and always strive to better themselves. 4) Family Oriented: Someone who values and putshisr family first. 5) Respect: Treat all members of the family and friends with respect. Think of the ways you like to be respected and reciprocate that behavior. |
| What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? | I went to a Chinese restaurant with my friend and he was watching peoples meals being served by sticking his head through the gap on the back of the chair. He ultimately got his head stuck. I pulled and pulled, but I couldn't get his head out. I called over to the waiter, and he tried to get it out; it still didn't work. Finally, he called over some other people who worked there for more help. Each of them tried to get his head out, none of them succeeded. Then one of them sighed and said that they would have to dismantle the chair. I think all of the people in the restaurant were watching then. I was literally having tears come out of my eyes from laughing until they had dismantled it, then he hid his head in shame and walked back to the car. He had some bruising on his upper neck, and it hurt to move it for the next few days. He definitely broke that habit for sure! |
| If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why? | I would visit all of the ancient wonders, middle age wonders, and modern era wonders of the world. Then travel around the world and learn more about other customs and cultures. |
| When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? | No matter how old and experienced you may become in life, you will never be able to compete with your elder's experiences. Also, we all grow up with the weight of history on us and it is important to keep that in perspective as we live our lives. |
