What is your most memorable childhood experience? | I remember my mom holding me on her hands. I should have been quite small at the time. Much later, my dad taught me how to build a model of a sailboat and we launched it together in a big river. We were discussing for a long time how that boat would cross the ocean. The first book I read, my parents pushed me through. I like to remember how good it can be to make kids do something they are not happy about for their own good. |
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why? | I most closely identify with my father. I think that I inherited his creativity and temperament. He is very honest and an internally noble man. |
What character traits do you admire in an individual? | I admire the will to know more, do things better, and the ability to be honest even if it is hard to do. This is the set of traits that together with intellect could give wisdom. I also admire people with wisdom. |
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? | It is really hard to remember. However, I do joke a lot. I love good comedy and laugh at funny things. However, humor should be clever and not cruel. For example, Jerry Seinfeld is one of my favorite comedians. |
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why? | I would love to travel to the highest mountains. However, there is the issue of my ability to sustain altitude. I learn a lot from mountains, but it takes hard work. I do rock-climbing with my son. I would like to travel to India because I love the culture of the country. Finally, I would like to travel to Greece and western Europe on a sailboat with my friends. I am lucky to have an experienced captain as my good friend. |
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? | I would like to pass on to my children hard work and respect. I would like them to form their own opinions, too. Also, try to do anything better. Learn what you are and follow your way. It is hard and those of us who are lucky have parents and books to help. |
