What is your most memorable childhood experience? | When I was eight my dad registered me in a little league baseball team. I wasn't the most coordinated player, I constantly had baseballs run through my legs, and I was terrified of the ball when it was my turn to bat. After several games of bad performances, I told my dad that I was ready to quit because I was no good at the sport. Instead of letting me quit, my dad would take me to the park every day after he got off work to practice my baseball skills. We would spend about two hours every evening practicing how to swing the bat, how to trap a ground ball correctly, etc. Needless to say, my skills improved dramatically and I was selected to be a part of the "All-star" team that year. That was the most memorable childhood experience. |
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why? | My father. He is the hardest working person that I have ever known. He sacrificed so much time in order to provide for our family. |
What character traits do you admire in an individual? | Self-sufficient, hard-working, punctual, honest, kindhearted. |
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? | I really can't pinpoint the funniest thing that has happened to me. Fortunately, I have had many good/funny memories. The funny moments heavily outnumber the sad moments in my life, and I plan to keep it that way. |
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why? | I would take my mother to Spain. Even when I was young, I would remember my mom saying how much she would love to visit Spain to trace our family roots. I have made it a life-goal to take her there. |
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? | Character and personality. Besides financial stability, the important thing to pass on to my children is compassion for others. We are all dealing with struggles, and I want to teach my children to be able to help others even when it is not required. |
