What is your most memorable childhood experience? | I was born in the northwest of China. My family originally comes from Shanghai, the biggest and most developed city in China. At the age of five, my parents took me to travel to Shanghai and the cities around there. After that trip, I came to realize the huge gap between my hometown and Shanghai and it gave me much more motivation to leave my birthplace. |
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why? | My mother. Unlike my father, who is not good at showing his love, my mother is the person I can go to no matter what happens in my life. She is also good at getting along with people, which is something I can learn from her. |
What character traits do you admire in an individual? | Creativeness and restlessness. I hate being held to one place, doing the same thing over and over again. I prefer discovering the much better outside world. But a lot of people will stay in their comfort zone, fearing changes in their lives. I want the opposite; constantly trying different things makes me happy. |
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? | There is nothing coming to mind regarding this question. |
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why? | I would travel to South America, especially Machu Picchu in Peru. I have been to an exhibition in Tokyo about Machu Picchu. I was fascinated by the buildings there. What's more, that is the farthest place on the earth from where I live. |
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? | I will consider having children five years after I start to work. I want to pass my language ability and my ways of thinking about the world to them. I want them to become persons with individuality. |
