What is your most memorable childhood experience? | After lunch, my grandfather would place me on a hammock, and while telling a tale would slowly swing the hammock until I fell asleep. If I woke, I would find him sitting on the chair right next to me reading his newspaper while assuring his grandson a good nap without nightmares. A special sense of peace. |
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why? | My mom has always been my example of success. She came from a very poor family from the countryside and built her own successful business, teaching me the importance of never giving up and being an honored man. |
What character traits do you admire in an individual? | I always manage to find more interesting those people who enjoy being inquisitive, humble and honest. Especially those open to learning something new. |
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? | Although I'm now a grown man, I never lost contact with my inner child. One of the funniest things was for my birthday recently my wife and I went to Disneyland for the first time here in the US. The experience was just amazing and surely the funniest day of my life. |
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why? | I would like to go to Johannesburg for a safari. Particularly I am not in favor of zoos and believe animals should be free. It would be amazing to go to an adventure with body and soul free creatures. |
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? | Apart from the basic values such as respect, love, and honesty, the most special thing I would like them to learn is that the only person who can tell them what they are or are not able to do is themselves. And if given the chance they would be surprised by how many hard obstacles they can overcome just by believing they can do it. |
