What is your most memorable childhood experience? | On the first day of school in first grade. Me and my mom were about to leave school, when an older student maybe fourth or fifth grade came to us. She told me that I was very handsome and gave me a kiss on both cheeks. |
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why? | My grandfather on my father's side. He had very similar characteristics to mine. Curious, handy, resourceful, plenty of common sense and the ability to really enjoy life. We were very close and I really miss him. |
What character traits do you admire in an individual? | Authenticity, resourcefulness, open-mindedness, curiosity, persistence, ability to love unconditionally, adventurous, common sense, emotional, intelligence, generosity. |
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? | Some years ago I lived near the beach. One weekend my friend from college and his family visited me. We went to the beach in the afternoon on the first day. We sat in the sand ten or fifteen feet away from the ocean, and kept an eye on his little daughter while she was playing in the water by the shore. Then all of the sudden something fell in my lap. At first I thought it was his daughter throwing seashells at us. I looked down and, to my surprise, it was a live fish twisting its body rapidly and suffering from being out of the water. I looked around and I saw a seagull that was hovering right above us. I guess he dropped his catch on the way to eat it. Luckily for the fish we had a little bucket. We filled it up with water and put the fish back in the ocean. It was such a funny and bizarre situation, plus the seagull seemed very disappointed to miss his afternoon snack. |
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why? | I would travel to all the small villages and towns around the globe where time has stopped and there is minimal globalization. I would like to meet the people who live there, capture their stories and see life through their eyes. |
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? | My wisdom, life philosophy and emotional bank account with all of my memories. |
