What is your most memorable childhood experience? | We spent a lot of hot summer days at the creek on our ranch in the Hill Country jumping from the rocks into the shallow clean water. |
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why? | My mother because she was always there for me and she is an independent and nonjudgmental person. |
What character traits do you admire in an individual? | I look for heroes and mentors who have done something unorthodox and reached a special level of success, despite the odds being against them from the outset. |
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? | When I got to college I made friends with a boy in my grade on a kayaking trip. We remained friends throughout school and were even roommates. Only in my senior year did we realize we are cousins on my dad's side. |
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why? | Right now I would like to go to east Asia and India because those cultures are increasingly influential in shaping modern history. |
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? | I think it would be funny to make a treasure map and hide something that children really like somewhere on our property. Then I can have a laugh from my grave at their astonished and happy faces when they discover it. |
