| What is your most memorable childhood experience? | It wasn't a singular experience, yet a continuous one involving my time spent playing youth hockey. I loved the comraderie of being on a team with a singular goal and everyone's contribution being of vital importance. Playing hockey led me to fostering great friendships and to highlights of my childhood such as scoring goals! |
| What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why? | My older sister. I am 2nd in line, and with that following in the footsteps of my sister. She set the bar very high throughout our lives, achieving academic goals that led me to putting a lot more resources into academics, and I ended up going toa college located near to her. Her work ethic is one that I strive to mirror. |
| What character traits do you admire in an individual? | Honesty, energy level, compassion, objectivity in decision-making |
| What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? | In grade school, my friends and I played chicken putting popsicle sticks into vents with spinning turbines. One time when our teacher wasn't looking, I stuck a popsicle stick in just to have some of it shave off, whereas my good friend stuck his intoo far, leading to the fan in the vent grabbing the popsicle stick in and chewing it up and spitting it out with our principal in the room! Got in some minor trouble, with no harm done to anyone, thankfully. We couldn't stop laughing when we were being scolded by our principal and teacher. |
| If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why? | To areas of great poverty in South America, such as Honduras, where I spent a week doing volunteer service work in a community. I'd like to spend a lot more time there bringing technology, health equipment and medication, along with education materials on public health to them and improve the community. |
| When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? | Work ethic and energy level. Always get your work done well, and always be active in whatever communities you live in; whether that be physically, politically, or socially active. Never stay still. |
