What is your most memorable childhood experience? | My most memorable childhood experience was getting my first dog. I have always been an animal person, and we had to beg our parents to get us a puppy. They always told us no, but one day came home with an 8 week old puppy. It was a moment filled with pure bliss. |
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why? | I most closely identify with my maternal grandmother. We have lived completely different lives. My grandmother has always been a person that perseveres through everything that has been thrown her way. She came to this country from England and worked hard to get citizenship for herself because she knew it would be a better life for her future family. I give credit to my grandmother for my own perseverance and determination. She was and still is my role model. |
What character traits do you admire in an individual? | I believe that character can either make or break a person. As humans we tend to judge what we see on the outside first, but it is essential to get to know what is on the inside as well. Some traits that I admire include empathy, patience, drive, leadership, understanding, equality, and loving. |
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? | Every day of my life something funny seems to happen to me. Life is about finding happiness, and sometimes we need to laugh at ourselves. One of the funniest things to happen to me was when I was a teenager. I used to frequent this pond with an old covered bridge over it. One day my friends and I were standing on the covered bridge and one of the swans came waddling in. It then proceeded to scream at us and start running in our direction. We all ran out from the bridge with the swan chasing us, but it decided to pick me as its victim. It was chasing me while still screaming. Not looking where I was going I then proceeded to fall right into the pond. As soon as I fell in the swan stopped. Everybody including myself had a good laugh. |
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why? | If time and money were no issue the first place that I would travel to would be New Zealand. New Zealand is an amazing country in which almost every climate can be found. I love the outdoors and exploring. Lord of the Rings was also filmed in New Zealand. Watching these films as a child and into my adulthood initially attracted me to the country. |
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? | If I ever have children I would like to pass onto them my sheer determination and grit. We live in a very competitive world and I have been told that I am one of the most determined people that my friends know. In addition to that I would also like to pass onto them my ability to empathize. Empathy is essential in networking, connecting, making friends, and building a strong family. |
