What is your most memorable childhood experience? | I got lost in preschool once. I must have been around three. I remember trying to call for help but realized that I didn't know English yet. |
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why? | I identify most with my mother. We share a similar sense of humor and love of children. |
What character traits do you admire in an individual? | I admire the emotional honesty to reflect on and acknowledge our own shortcomings. |
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? | As I was about to get ambushed by a wild baboon in the mountains in rural Mozambique, I discovered that I had amazing 4G network coverage to Google search “monkey attack survival skills” and safely escaped. In retrospect, I would say that is funny. |
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why? | I would like to travel anywhere I have a local contact but have yet to visit. I love having my assumptions about cultures and communities challenged. What better place than somewhere new, but with a friend to help me start conversations? |
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? | I suppose I would like to share my various hypotheses about the nature of life and humans. Only hypotheses though, as I would hate to have them believe in certainty. |
