What is your most memorable childhood experience? | My most memorable childhood experience is playing a lot of sports. I played three different sports growing up, so I had a lot of teammates and friends that helped shape who I was becoming. They helped me understand what it was like to work towards a common goal with someone who may not necessarily be from your neighborhood or from your school, and instead treat everyone with respect no matter what is going on. |
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why? | I would say I identify with my father a lot. I look a lot like him, and I feel like I have inherited a lot of his ways of thinking. However, I don't think I'm 100% similar, as there are a couple of things that I would like to improve on. I'd like to think I have a better temper than him, which fortunately I inherited from my mom. |
What character traits do you admire in an individual? | I admire the ability to be calm in the face of hard situations and the ability to laugh through anything difficult. I feel like I've had hard times in the past, and I really admire the people around me who can think rationally even if I am not able to at the moment. I like that people can laugh or at least make me laugh in the face of something awful, because it keeps me focused on the things that matter as opposed to being sad for an extended period. I enjoy the levity in the world, and I really admire people who can help me see that. |
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? | I have had a lot of funny things happen to me. I love to tell jokes, puns and other things to help ease tension. I'd say the funniest thing that's ever happened to me is that one time I went on a date, and I tried to make a homemade cherry pie. I realized only after I made the pie, and after my date took their first bite, that I had forgotten the pits. It was funny at the time, and mostly harmless. |
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why? | I would travel to Italy and Amsterdam. I would go to Italy because I am a great fan of the Italian culture and art, and I want to visit and see everything. I’d also like to go soon, before environmental issues impact the coastal cities any more than they have. I'd also like to see Holland because I am a fan of the Flower Festival that happens every April. My birthday is in April, and I think it would be amazing to see all the colors and flowers and all the people enjoying the natural world. |
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? | I would like to pass on the knowledge of mental and emotional strength to my children. There are points in life which are not so easy or happy, and it takes a strong individual to keep pushing through the tough times to see the brighter days. It's easy to be boisterous or flaunting during the good times, but I would like to teach my children to be strong during these times and be humble. Having emotional and mental strength is necessary for all walks of life and can directly influence your physical strength. |
