Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience? My most memorable childhood experience was a trip to the boundary waters when I was 11. I have a scar from that trip, where I fell on my knee and probably needed stitches. That part of the experience only gave me a physical marker to remember the trip, but the real memorable parts were not an injury. We tented up next to a lake, after portaging into the boundary waters. We got to hear wolves howling, it was the first time I saw the Milky Way, and I caught a lot of fish, which was exciting as an 11-year-old. It is a trip I would replicate now in a heartbeat.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I most identify with my father. We have the most in common compared to any other family members, either politically or interest wise. He is the person I most aspire to be like.
What character traits do you admire in an individual? There are several traits I admire, but some more than others. The most important of these include honesty, loyalty, and humor. The first two are important for me to be able to trust someone, and humor is what allows me to open up to someone and understand that they don't need to take everything seriously.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?The funniest thing to happen to me is when I had a fever of 102. Hear me out. I was hallucinating from the fever, and thought monsters were trying to take me away, and I felt like I was floating, so I ran out of bed and tried to get away. I was half asleep, but when I realized what was happening, my girlfriend and I laughed pretty hard about it.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?I would like to visit England. I am a huge Manchester United fan and I would love to go there to see them play at home in the Stretford End.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?If I ever have children, I would want them to learn and grow from my parenting. I'd want to leave them as whole-hearted, well-rounded individuals with critical minds and loving hearts.
