Updates - MedicalUpdate February 2025: The donor notified us that he has been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. There may be a small increased risk for first degree relatives. Update: March 2025: The donor shared that he has never had mono or Epstein Barr virus (risk factors for HL). He reports that his doctors believe that at the point of diagnosis (Feb 2025) he had HL between 6 to 12 months. He first sought a diagnosis when he developed a chronic cough. He denies that he or his family members have any history of immune issues or related conditions. He was diagnosed with Mixed Cellularity Classic HL, has no other symptoms, so type A. Stage is 4 due to a lung mass. One internal lymph node is the only other area affected, so per the donor it would have to be stage 1 without the mass. Update June 2025: Regarding his ongoing cancer treatment, the donor has shared the following information, "Everything has gone very well with minimal side effects. The treatment I am on is not only more effective than traditional methods, but less toxic and involves fewer side effects. 7 are complete of 12 total, scheduled to finish August 8. Since each PET scan introduces radiation and the modern treatment for Hodgkin's Lymphoma is so effective/curative, oncologists opt to only do an "end of treatment" PET scan followed by personal symptom monitoring and quarterly bloodwork for the following 2 years. After 2 years it will move to twice per year bloodwork until 5 years when "cure" is officially declared." In addition, he reported that no additional diagnoses or forms of cancer have been identified, there has been no additional genetic testing conducted on himself or his relatives, and no d have increased his own chance of this diagnosis have been determined. Updates - Family Medical HistoryUpdate May 2025: Donor conceived child reported to have webbed fingers bilaterally. Extremely mild on right hand between middle and ring finger; up to second knuckle between middle and ring finger on left hand. Only skin; no underlying bone anomalies detected. Surgery planned for around 18 months of age. No other medical or health concerns have been reported on this child and no genetic testing has been conducted. Inheritance is unknown, however after reviewing with our medical director and pediatric geneticist, it is believed to be unlikely that other children conceived by this donor are at risk to be affected. No other children conceived by this donor are reported to have any medical updates. No change to profile: October 2025.
