| Updates - Family Medical History | UPDATE July 2025 A pregnancy conceived with the help of this donor was identified to have an increased nuchal translucency of 4.2mm with bilateral jugular lymphatic sacs of fluid (5mm each at early anatomy scan). Non-invasive prenatal screening results were normal, per the client. An amniocentesis was conducted assessing chromosome microarray analysis and genes associated with Noonan’s syndrome. A prenatal exome was not conducted. Per client, CMA results were normal. Other results are still pending. Additional (unspecified) findings were identified on the client’s second trimester ultrasound. It is unknown if the lymphatic sacs have resolved. The client was asked to clarify. Additional information and the risk to other donor conceived pregnancies remains unknown at this time.UPDATE July 2025 Previously mentioned pregnancy was identified to have additional findings on two seperate anatomy scans: small stomach, possible anal atresia, upper GI tract obstruction with fistula, and lower GI tract atresia/obstruction. Results of previous Noonan syndrome panel have still not be disclosed to Fairfax however the client did state that they are now pursuing whole exome sequencing. Risk for otherdonor conceived children remains unknown. UPDATE August 2025 Results of Noonan's panel conducted on previously mentioned pregnancy were normal. Results of whole exome sequencing are still pending. UPDATE September 2025: Despite multiple attempts to contact the client, we have not received additional information regarding this medical update, including the results of WES. Though no link to the donor has beendetermined, sale of his vials has been restricted to full siblings. Over 20 births have been reported. There have been no additional medical update reported related to this donor or those who he has helped to conceive. UPDATE September 2025: Upon sending out the Notification Letter, the client provided the following information: During her latest ultrasound, the stomach was still small, indicating potential tracheoesophageal fistula but a sphincter was observed. Her Genetics Team received the WES results and disclosed that there was a variant of uncertain significance (VUS), however, could not give her more information until the baby is born and examined. When a VUS is identified, it is unclear whether that variant is associated with a specific health condition. In many cases, the variant is so rare in the general population that it has not been described in the literature or variant databases, thus there is little published information to review. Identification of a VUS does not establish or rule out the diagnosis of a disorder, and no recommendations are made based solely on the finding of a VUS. She said that they were told that the baby will be monitored for up to 3 years for various milestones. She said not to expect further updates. |
