What is your most memorable childhood experience? | The most memorable childhood experience I have is when I realized how fast time moves and how I used to want to be taller than my brothers and thinking that I would never get there. Eventually, I was getting taller and that is when I realized that time is fading away and trying to be worried about the future will make you waste your present. I started to worry less about the future and more about what is happening right now. |
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why? | I would not necessary identify myself with any of my family members that closely. I did, however, really enjoy spending time with my dad’s cousin. He was always making his own toys, like homemade kites and cars from scrap wood from a nearby carpenter’s shop. He was like a kid trapped in an adult body, always so creative and spontaneous. |
What character traits do you admire in an individual? | I have always admired honesty in an individual, that sets up the tone of a conversation. People who are clean and open minded tend to be genuinely good people to talk to. I will not be so inclined to say admiration, it is more about appreciating those traits. |
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? | I happen to be an individual that has a lot of fun things that happened to me. One that comes to mind really quickly is when on a fast trip to the local Starbucks I was handed a drink and the barista told me, “Enjoy your drinks.” To which I unconsciously replied to him. “Yeah, you too.” After a moment of silence, we just both looked at each other and I handed one of my drinks to him and he smiled and said, “Well, now I can.” Lots of people waiting for service just burst into laughter. Boy was that embarrassing. I just somehow managed to make so many people laugh at my expense. |
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why? | Traveling to Japan has always been on my bucket list. It is such a different culture and I have always wanted to go and spend a couple of months to really get to know it. How people live is so amazing, the land is not vast, yet the Japanese have always made the very best of it and completely thrive on most of what they do. I find it so fascinating. |
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? | Passing knowledge to children is one of the basics of living. Some of the hardest things would be to cram so much knowledge into something easy to understand to teach to our younger generations. I guess I would try to emphasize the values that we have lost. I would like to pass on the care of our planet and to preserve the finer things in life. The responsibility of caring for one another is also key to making better human beings. |
