What is your most memorable childhood experience? | By the time I got to high school, my friends and I had a routine. We would either go to my friend’s house and we would play PGA Tiger Woods 2008 until 2 or 3am, and then we would go to sleep and get up for school. Otherwise, we would go to my house and either have a campfire followed by playing Xbox or walk around the nearby lake followed by playing Xbox. Looking back, it was very repetitive, but in the moment, it was a blast and it never got old. |
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why? | I identify most with my cousin. Even though we were not brought up the exact same way, we grew up similar as adults. We both had a similar experience through our adolescent years regarding the type of friends we had as well as our outlook on school. Now that we have both matured as adults, we have very similar outlooks on family and friends, and how we let them impact our lives. |
What character traits do you admire in an individual? | After my time in the military, I would say personal accountability is most important. If I need someone to do a job and I know they are accountable they will either get it done or tell me that they can't do it. In either case I would rather have an individual that I can rely on than someone that I can’t. |
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? | I cannot narrow it down to a specific incident. Growing up, my friends and I were always playing pranks on each other. Even though some of the time they were at my expense it was still good wholesome fun. Now I can say after I joined the military there were a lot more sketchy situations that in the moment brought my friends and me closer together and we still talk about those occasions years later. |
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why? | My wife and I have both agreed on this question and one day hope to travel to Europe. First, for the historical sights, followed by the culture. I know it’s a bit touristy, but the picturesque photos you see of the Mediterranean make me want to be able to see it for myself. |
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? | I want them to have the ability to not let other people control their mental and physical wellbeing. If I have learned anything it is that the only people that can affect you are those you let affect you. As someone who usually handles stress very well, it just makes life so much more enjoyable if you don’t have to deal with others’ stress if you don’t have to. |
