What is your most memorable childhood experience? | Music is just one of those things that sticks with you at any age. For most of us, I'm sure we can remember a song that our parents played a lot. One of the songs that I usually pull out of my memory bank when I'm reminiscing is "I Love Your Smile" by Shanice. However, for the most part, my parents played a lot of gospel music around the house. Now when I hear a particular song, I immediately have a flashback to hearing the same song as a child. |
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why? | I identify most with both of my parents. They always support me even when I make mistakes. |
What character traits do you admire in an individual? | I admire integrity, responsibility, resilience, and compassion for others. |
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? | Once I was traveled to San Francisco with my friend. We booked an Airbnb room in a neighborhood that didn’t look too safe. After the first day exploring the city, we came back to the street where we stayed, opened the gates that led to the apartment, opened the door and only then did we realize that it wasn’t our place at all. Knowing how big of a deal trespassing is in USA, we were terrified of breaking into somebody’s apartment. The funny thing is that the gates downstairs got locked so we were trapped in there. Soon an old lady showed up from the bedroom, started to yell something in Spanish to us but finally let us out. We couldn’t stop laughing but it surely was a terrifying experience. |
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why? | I would like to visit Germany, the UK, and Europe in general. |
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? | I want my children to be able to present with confidence. They should be able to "hold a room" and not merely read off a PowerPoint presentation. They need to be able to defend their work. Students who participate in the science fair, history fair, or other school events gain experience with this skill, but teachers need to incorporate more opportunities for presentations into the classroom. |
