What is your most memorable childhood experience? | My most memorable childhood experience was going abroad to Germany when I was 13. I was a part of a school exchange program, and I was able to live with a host family for 2 weeks and explore Germany and European culture. To this day it has been my favorite trip. |
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why? | I closely identify with my mom because we are both task-oriented people. We can joke around, but when things need to get done, we put our head down and begin to work. She’s resourceful, smart, and kind. People gravitate towards her even though she isn’t outwardly social. I feel that’s the closest person that embodies me. |
What character traits do you admire in an individual? | I admire intelligence, humor, compassion, and empathy. I like to have intellectual conversations with people as well as crack jokes that have obscure allusions to pop culture or facts. I feel people should be compassionate because we are all trying to make it through life, some people draw short straws on their situations, and I would like for people to understand that. |
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? | The funniest thing to ever happen to me was during my high school graduation, I missed a step and almost fell on stage in front of about 3000 people. |
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why? | I would love to travel through the African continent. The diversity of people, cultures, and wildlife is very alluring. As well as stepping foot on my people’s historical motherland would be very impactful for me. |
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? | I would like to pass on the knowledge and wisdom from my past experiences growing up in poverty. I hope to be in a more financially secure position when I have children, however those experiences have helped me through my entire life. I want to pass on as much as I can to have my children succeed whether it be money, advice, time, or love. |
