What is your most memorable childhood experience? | My most memorable childhood experience is when I met Barack Obama when I was a teenager. Prior to him being president, my parents brought me to a campaign rally, and he came into the crowd after his speech and shook my hand. This is an event that changed the trajectory of my life for the better. |
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why? | I closely identify with my mother. She is a very kind, empathetic person. I value her traits and I'm grateful for how they've rubbed off on me. |
What character traits do you admire in an individual? | In my eyes, kindness is the paramount trait. In addition, I value a craving for knowledge, and discipline. I believe honesty is very important as well. |
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? | The funniest thing to happen to me was when I was at the airport, they thought I was bringing explosives, but it was just cake. Someone had made me a cake and I couldn't bring the whole thing, so I put it all in containers and it caused a big panic. They passed it through the x-ray machine and made a big deal out of it. |
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why? | I would travel to Tanzania because I believe that's where my ancestors are from. I believe it's very important to be connected to your roots. That is an experience I greatly look forward to. |
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? | I would like to pass on intellect, compassion, curiosity, and a strong desire to learn as well. Lastly, I would like to pass on my musical prowess. |
