Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience?I would often go camping with friends and family. From a young age I was always playing in the woods, and I was fortunate to have parents who gave me freedom to explore from a young age.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I identify most with my father. He's always been exceptional at everything he does, whether it's math, sports, working out, etc. I was really fortunate growing up to have someone in my life who I could truly look up to.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?I admire authenticity and being present. I dislike it when I'm with family and friends and they spend all their time on their phones or on social media. When I'm with someone I try to give my full attention. I also admire the ability to laugh at yourself.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?In 2021 my apartment building caught on fire. I looked out the window when our fire alarm went off at two in the morning and all I saw was fire. I immediately booked it out of the building, not bothering to put on clothes or shoes. For two hours while they put out the fire I had to sit on the curb in my underwear while everyone else from the building stared at me.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?I would travel to the North Shore in Minnesota and just camp and live there full time. I think it's one of the most beautiful areas on earth, and the people are just as nice. I'm not someone who loves a 5-star hotel and tons of luxury items. I prefer simplicity.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?I hope to pass on curiosity. I think it's very important to try new things, even if you think you won't like it. I would also love to pass on my love of the outdoors. In an age where so many kids spend all day playing video games and using their phones, I think connecting with nature is one of the best forms of medicine. Third would be the importance of eating right and taking care of your body, and how that will affect all aspects of your life.
