What is your most memorable childhood experience? | I’ll always remember my oldest sister teaching me how to read. Being 10 years apart, we weren't that close growing up. A vivid memory I have is holding a Dr. Suess book simply because I liked the colors. At that point in my life, I was only about 3 and had not yet started school or reading. My sister saw me and came over to read the book to me. After she read it once, she asked if I wanted to try. She helped me sound my way through the book and ever since I have loved reading. |
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why? | I identify most with my dad. We have always been so much alike with our looks, interests, humor, etc. As I got older, I started realizing exactly how hard he and my mom both worked to provide for me and my sisters. The difference between my parents, was that my dad never missed one of my practices, games, school plays, whatever it may be. No matter what he had going on with work or otherwise, he always made time to be there. That is the man I want to be portrayed as: dependable, hardworking, and someone who will always be there when you need them. |
What character traits do you admire in an individual? | The first trait I admire in someone is their work ethic. I admire people who put their heads down to grind and provide for themselves because that is how I was raised and how I work as well. The second it being humble. I like surrounding myself with successful people as role models to look up to and drive to be. Most of those people are extremely humble, not flaunting their money, success, or power. And the last major trait is honesty. Not only not lying to people but being straight forward about your intentions and not beating around the bush. |
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? | This happened to me on my senior year high school trip. I was sitting on the railing of the bridge on the water ride right as you walk in. The force from the water that hit me was so strong, I lost my shorts and couldn't find them all day. I had to ride the bus back to school with my sweatshirt as pants. |
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why? | My dream vacation is a 6-month European tour. I want to start in Switzerland in the summer and country hop taking trains the entire time and experiencing as many new cultures as I can. At the end of month 6, I want to circle back to Switzerland so I can see it in the winter as well. Switzerland is #1 on my travel bucket list but I can't decide if I want to go in the summer or winter, so this tackles both. |
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? | I want my kids to be independent and hard working so they can cultivate a strong future for themselves. I'm a big believer that you get out of life what you put into it. I want them to want to be successful but not expect success to just come to them. Another key lesson I will teach them is to respect everyone until they give you a reason not to. No matter where someone comes from, what they look like, or what you might think of them, we all deserve to be treated with respect. Another key lesson I will teach them is unconditional love. They will undoubtedly know that I will always be there and do absolutely anything for them for as long as they live. |
