What is your most memorable childhood experience? | My fondest memories are probably of playing with my siblings in the backyard or playing video games in the basement. I was the youngest of five kids. |
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why? | I identify most with my eldest brother who is very much a mentor to me. He's helped me both professionally and personally. He's a very successful, admirable, and humble person. |
What character traits do you admire in an individual? | I like persistence, resourcefulness and initiative. These are characteristics I possess and things I look for in others, both at work and in my personal life. |
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? | I was visiting Seattle, WA and wanted to pop into Vancouver, Canada. It's a short train ride across the border. I bought tickets and only once I was about to get on the train did I realize it was destined for the Vancouver in Washington state, not in Canada. Luckily, I found a bus that actually went to the Vancouver that I wanted to go to. The whole bus ride and afterwards I was laughing at myself, and so was my family. |
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why? | I would probably travel to Europe. I believe they have a better standard of living, better social policies, and a more caring society. |
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? | I would pass on to them the lessons of my father. He was a man who genuinely did achieve the Canadian Dream. He came to Canada with nothing but 3 kids, then had 2 more. He worked hard enough to build a life for himself and his family. |
