Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience?I used to spend Sundays with my grandmother, helping her cook large dinners for our family and friends, who would gather together on Sunday evenings.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I identify most with my father, because we share a similar intellectual curiosity (we both love to read and constantly learn) and similar sense of patience.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?I admire resilience, patience, intelligence, and curiosity.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? After a cancelled flight to Italy, I had to drive a 2-seat Smart car with FOUR people across the entire country of France. As cars whizzed past us for hours on the highway, we finally reached the Alps, only to find the car did not have enough power to get us over the mountain pass. The four of us slept in a kind stranger's farmhouse that night and in the morning, thought better of the car rental and bought train tickets. We made it to Rome within hours.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?I would travel to Argentina, because it is the perfect blend of European and South American architecture, art, food, and spirit, and as an added bonus, possesses one of the most awe-inspiring natural landscapes on the planet.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?I hope to pass on intelligence, thoughtfulness, curiosity, and the value of working hard at whatever you choose to do (both personally and professionally).
