Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience? My most memorable childhood experiences came every summer. My aunt worked at a boutique hotel, so every year she gave my family a huge suite for one week. It was always an amazing time for my sister and I, spending every day at the beach and pool. All the hotel staff knew us too, so we were treated like royalty for that one week each year!
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I definitely identify most closely with my dad. He and I are both very organized, analytical, and meticulous. We both love planning anything and everything: vacations, cooking, etc. He’s always been a fitness enthusiast and has inspired my own healthy lifestyle.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?I admire people who are adventurous and dependable. This combination is tough to come by, but I most admire someone who strives for adventure and is also dependable enough to help make the adventure happen! People who like things such as traveling, camping, and day trips are who I tend to gravitate toward.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?My girlfriend and I once accidentally locked ourselves in the bathroom of an Airbnb. This was only our second vacation together, so it was a test of patience. Basically, the doorknob was old and when I pulled it too hard, it broke off. Since it was my fault, I felt obligated to try and reattach it for about an hour. I was getting ready to try and climb out this third-floor window to get help. My girlfriend grabbed the doorknob, and with one swift twist was able to reattach it and unlock the door! I should have gotten her help sooner!
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?Interestingly enough, I would take a road trip around the entire United States, doing a combination of cities and National Parks. I think there’s so much to explore in the US, with enough diversity to keep the travel interesting. An international destination I would choose is Italy. It seems like there’s a lot to explore there too.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?I will pass on my love for and knowledge of music. To me music is one of the most important and accessible art forms, and it’s also a positive emotional outlet for all ages. Whatever instrument they want to learn, I will definitely pay for.
