Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience? When I was a child, I used to be a model. The work was a lot of fun growing up and I miss it a lot but sadly I was missing too much education. Looking at a picture of myself in the newspaper for clothing ads made my family smile and myself along with it.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I identify the most with my grandfather. He's the one who has taught me the most in life and how to get by on my own. He made sure to teach me the meaning of doing things with my own hands and learning the work. I also learned my way of saving up for the future from him, never just think about what's immediately in front.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?I admire a person's commitment, passion and sense of self reliance. With all three at your back you can go anywhere in life. All are necessary for anything you want to attain or build. Whether it be your career, retirement, savings or life you need to be able to do it yourself and not on the back of another.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? When I was first starting my firefighter career, I was getting chewed out by my captain for spraying down burned items. He snatched a hose from me and started yelling for me to go inside, however he failed to notice the nozzle was pointed at his face while I had it pinched off. I attempted to warn him multiple times, but he wouldn't listen, and I just let it go, spraying him in the face. I tried to warn him.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?The destination of choice for me would be New Zealand. I've always enjoyed outdoor activities such as rock climbing, river tubing and hiking. New Zealand is a grand destination for a lot of outdoor sporting events and activities such as the Waitomo Caves for tubing.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? That it doesn't matter where your parentage comes from when it comes to a donor. What matters is the family you have and what lays ahead of you. Learn from the past yes but dont think it defines anything about you. Don't be distracted by the world around you and keep moving forward.
