| What is your most memorable childhood experience? | When I was 11 years old, we went to a party with many friends. We played in the pool all night and had a great time! It was a birthday party for a friend in his house with a bunch of people. I remember we played cops and robbers boys vs girls and at some point, in the afternoon, we started pushing each other to the pool with clothes on. It was a funny madness. I enjoyed how we all ended up in the pool having fun and laughing about each other how they got into the water with clothes. |
| What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why? | I identify most with my mother, we share the same habits and vision about health, and also, how to treat others and communicate efficiently. We keep accountability of the kind of food we eat every time and so we can include it in our daily plan. We both think that nutrition is the backbone for health plus with the studies of the microbiota, what we believe about it is changing. Since I was a kid, she taught me to be empathetic with others and always think that other people can be affected by my actions if I am not aware of them. Most of the time we check in on each other, how we are doing and how are we feeling physically and emotionally. The productive schedules for waking up early, exercising in the morning and end with a significant breakfast. |
| What character traits do you admire in an individual? | I admire integrity, leading by example, empathy, and being happy. Leading by example literally means doing what you preach. A perfect example is a prominent athlete talking about discipline, having a go-getter mindset, and proper nutrition. It keeps me aware of when to talk and when to be quiet when talking about certain topics depending on the experience I have. I always make sure that I am doing what I am saying I am going to do. It really talks about who you are and what you do every day. You must take care of it at all costs. |
| What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? | When I was a kid and misbehaved, adults told me that I was going to be burned with fireworks. They put my cousin as an example who had a dark skin tone (tanned) and I believed it. I remember I was 8 years old at that time. At the beginning I felt a little scared, but when I started behaving, I felt secure that it was not going to happen. I really did change it at least for that moment. |
| If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why? | I would go first class to Spain. There is a lot of culture to learn from and interesting women to meet. I would say Barcelona is where I'd want to go most. I'm interested in its history because that's where our Hispanic ancestors were. Even though I have tried it in Spanish restaurants I would like to taste how the paella is over there. |
| When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? | I want them to know how to respect others, and to learn to find a life purpose instead of just doing what everybody else does. To become leaders for the world. Today and tomorrow will be the quality in demand for human beings. With the right direction and good leadership, the world will always change for the better. For sure be part of the organizations in school because it will allow them to find where they fit and what they can do. Plus, they will acquire abilities like social skills that enhance their leadership. I would say integrity above all, sense of life purpose and love, so they can be a good influence on others. |
