What is your most memorable childhood experience?We traveled to Alaska when I was about 10 and I fell in love with the outdoors. I can imagine the mountains and rivers still. I was salmon fishing in a river and caught a huge one while almost being pulled in.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I identify with my full brother the most because we have kids who are about the same age. Our parents divorced while I was young, and he was always there to help. He joined the army and that really influenced me to join.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?I admire it when somebody can tell me the truth even if it’s bad. I am easy to talk with and people seem to be able to be honest with me. I also admire when somebody has confidence but isn’t cocky.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?I can’t really remember the funniest thing to happen to me, but I enjoy hanging out with friends and having a good time. I’m always down to have a good chuckle or even go to a stand-up event.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?I would love to visit World War 2 battle sites across Europe. I really enjoy history and its impact on the world. I have visited many Civil War sites.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?I do have children, and I hope they learn from me that with hard work and determination anything is attainable. Learning is continuous and you should never stop. Help others when they are in need.
