What is your most memorable childhood experience?My discovery of metal music was the most significant moment of my youth. The music was a mirror in which I discovered my soul, and the community is where I found a home. In my youth the music gave the fabric on which I weaved my character.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I was close to both of my grandmas when I was young. My grandmas spent a lot of time playing with me when I was 5-10 years old and they would shower me with affection. My parents were busy building up their careers during those years and my grandmas kept me good company. My grandma on my dad’s side was a great chef and she was always cooking me sumptuous meals. I remember playing board games with my grandma on my mom’s side and watching TV shows.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?I am a man of passion. My focus and tenacity are strengths that come to me naturally. An evergreen growth mindset is second nature in me. I live a life that is creative and strategic. Staying honest to my purpose has led me to come a very long way in life.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?A quote from one of my favorite comedians, George Carlin, where he shares a take on the looming sustainability crisis that’s not only hilarious but also humbling in the face of the challenges ahead. The planet is fine, we may not be!
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?I’d travel to Mars. Once we build sustainable habitats for humans on Mars, that will be the next giant leap for mankind.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?My ultimate goal in life is to make a meaningful impact on the sustainability challenge and leave this world nicer for the next generation. A more sustainable world is the greatest gift our generation can give to the next.
