Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience? When I was 8 years old, my parents sent my siblings and I to a sailing camp where we learned to sail like our grandfather. Sailing continues to be one of my favorite activities. My grandparents had a house on a bay with two recreational sailboats that my siblings and cousins had the pleasure of enjoying.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I identify with my older brother the most. He is the hardest worker I’ve ever met and he quickly excels in everything that he does.
What character traits do you admire in an individual? The most admirable traits that one can have in my opinion are integrity and tenacity. I don’t expect people to be perfect, but I do expect honesty and some level of discipline. These core values I believe are the building blocks to a strong character.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?Perhaps not the funniest thing to ever happen to me, but a hilarious incident that happened to me about a month ago. My friends and I were sitting in a park after a barbecue when a white vehicle zoomed across the grass and disappeared around the corner of the basketball court. Somehow two of my pals were so distracted that they didn’t even notice it. So, realizing they didn’t notice this bizarre occurrence I said to them, “Did anyone just see that car drive by?” My one friend, who’s the only one who allegedly noticed it says, “I saw it, that black car was driving crazy.” The car wasn’t even black, but she described everything else accurately, yet my other two friends deny that vehicle ever drove by for two reasons: 1. Our stories don’t align. 2. They would have noticed it. To this day I’m still not confident whether my friend saw the car or not.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?If money were no object I would travel to the moon. Everything about it seems so exciting, the atmosphere would be absolutely crazy, and I just think the experience would be out of this world.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?I would pass onto them my wisdom, my life lessons which I like to write down when they are meaningful, and lastly, I would like to also leave them each with rights to my land so that they always have a place they can come back to.
