What is your most memorable childhood experience?As a child, my most memorable experience was jumping off a bridge into a swimming hole. It was like a rite of passage to jump off that bridge and doing it made me feel like a man for the first time.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I closely identify with all my brothers and my mother. I say this because how we grew up, we almost felt exiled from the rest of the family. There was a lot of hypocrisy going on and nobody wanted to admit they did wrong and bad but had no qualms about throwing wrong and bad on us. So, for me it was always easy and beneficial to identify with like-minded people.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?In an individual, I truly admire honesty. It’s hard to be truthful in the face of something you did wrong, but if you can go through the emotions and still have the decency to admit wrong and come to the light, that’s something you can truly admire.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?The funniest thing that unfortunately happened to me was when I was about 8. I was pantsed in front of all the kids on my block by a 14-year-old. At the time it wasn’t funny at all, but as time went by whenever I thought about it, it was always able to make me laugh.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?If time and money were not an issue, I wouldn’t just travel to one location. I would backpack around the world. Life is unexpected so to not enjoy it to its fullest is like spitting in the face of your creator.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?When I have children, I would like to pass on a lot of my personal traits. I would like them to have my empathy, my confidence, and my social intellect. Intellect is key, but if you’re smart enough to be aware of your surroundings and know what to do in any given situation then you’re golden.
