Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience?I enjoyed going to Tunisia with my parents. I was five years old at that time and it was truly a memorable experience. We rode camels, played in the Sahara and it was my first time seeing the ocean.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why? This person has to be my maternal grandfather. I see a lot of physical similarities, from our build to our faces as well as our dislike of drinking water haha. He was truly an admirable man with pure virtues, who was a multiple sport college athlete, a college professor, and one of the pioneers of the computer science program at his university. I aspire to be more like him.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?I'm a man of my word and I admire those who also value theirs and keep their promises. It is definitely a rare trait to see these days. Other than that, I also admire those who are able to be positive in the face of adversity.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? This is probably the hardest question on this form for me to answer. I'm just happy every day and live in the present, it's hard for me to think about an instance in the past where I derived humor from. I guess the thing that popped up in my mind right now was when my friend threw up in the car and it went all over my other friend, and the reactions were hilarious. I know it's silly, but both of their reactions were priceless.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?I would love to go to Northern Europe to see the beautiful Nordic people and get a glimpse of their low-stress lifestyle. Besides that, I'd like to ride horses in the steppes of Mongolia and reconnect with my nomadic roots. Lastly, I'd like to drive across Europe in a Ferrari. Go through different cities and visit small towns getting more immersed with the locals. However, perhaps most importantly, I’d love to buy my mother a first-class international ticket so traveling overseas doesn’t have to be an uncomfortable experience.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?I love children and think the world is better with them than without them. Perhaps in 2026 or sooner, because I would first have to have a wife haha. I believe they will be well prepared in life because I value education and a can-do mindset. Perhaps they will also inherit some physical gifts from my partner and me.
