Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience? My most memorable childhood experience would be at my first home during the holidays. I was 9 years old and had been playing video games for as long as I could remember but never could truly complete levels without my father’s help. I finally beat the first dungeon of Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, and I was so proud of myself as I had been trying to complete that portion of the game for a few days prior. After that moment, I was surprised by my parents taking me and my sister out bowling, which at the time was my favorite out-of-house activity and I remember being so happy and so excited. Let’s be honest, Cosmic Bowling was the best (and still is).
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I would have to say that I identify most with my sister. Growing up, we had some hard times due to the divorce we went through. She was always on my side and never let me see the darker sides of separation. We always had a special bond even though family togetherness has never been a huge part of our lives. As we got older, our lives took different turns but we never would miss a beat when it came to talking about our similar interests, hobbies, and ideals.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?Calmness: Having someone who can be relaxed and not always on edge can be very helpful during stressful situations. Ambition: Although I may have different interests and future plans, I find it rewarding to see and hear about other goals and ideals in life. Reliability: On a closer connection, it’s reassuring that I can comfortably rely on individuals. As a part of my job, it is all about teamwork and reliability. Transparency: I always appreciate people who don't beat around the bush and can be upfront regardless of the situation.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? When I was in my later years of high school, we had recently moved into a new house after my father’s remarriage. I was living in the finished basement and running quite late to school and had to quickly get ready. As I was leaving, I heard a meow from my bathroom and was very confused. I went back in and found my Bengal cat sitting calmly in the toilet bowl and water. I was still half asleep, but I laughed and quickly dried him off and got him warm before I had to leave for school. I had kept wondering all day if I had dreamed that but found wet paw prints in my room to confirm that it had happened.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?I would travel to all the Scandinavian countries. The culture, land, people, and architecture of the countries have always interested me and has been a goal of mine to visit in my lifetime. I have done lots of research into those countries, both history and modern times.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?I would pass on all my hobbies to them hoping they would at least try them out given my previous investments into them. I would also provide them with a written story of my life so that there will be no question of who their father was. And of course, all my wealth to provide one final gift of financial relief.
