| What is your most memorable childhood experience? | My most memorable childhood experience was going to Puerto Rico with my family. I’ve always valued family deeply, and some of my best memories were made with them. We went to the beach several times, visited each other’s houses, and went hiking and kayaking. However, nothing beats staying home, playing video games, and just laughing and joking around with my cousins. |
| What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why? | Everyone in my family would tell you that I am a carbon copy of my father. We look alike, act alike, and are both charismatic, social people. What many people may not see is that we both have strong work ethics and would do anything for our family and friends. |
| What character traits do you admire in an individual? | I truly admire honesty in a person. In today’s society, it seems easier for people to lie behind your back rather than be upfront and honest. I respect those who, even when it’s difficult or may hurt someone’s feelings, choose to be honest. While it may be tough in the moment, it’s always better in the long run. |
| What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? | The funniest thing that ever happened to me was during high school. After school, I’d always go straight to the gym around 2:45 PM. I would start with squats, and on one particular day, I was feeling extra gassy. While I was squatting with heavy weight, I accidentally released some gas—thankfully, no one heard it, but it was pretty loud. The funniest part was that after letting it out, I was able to complete the rep much faster, and I couldn’t stop laughing about it. |
| If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why? | If time and money weren’t an issue, I would love to visit Japan. The culture, history, lore, and food all fascinate me, and I’ve always wanted to experience it firsthand. I would want to stay there for months, as there is so much to explore, and with limited time and resources, I would want to make the most of it by fully immersing myself in everything Japan has to offer. |
| When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? | If I ever have children, I would want to pass on the importance of empathy. People have always told me, even when I was younger, how kind and empathetic I am toward others, and that it feels genuine. I’ve always believed that you can never truly know what someone is going through until they open up to you, whether it’s because they want to save face or simply don’t wish to talk about it. I remind myself daily that we never know what someone is dealing with, so it’s always important to be kind. |
