| What is your most memorable childhood experience? | My most memorable childhood experience was my first concert when I was 11. My whole family took us to see our favorite band at the time (Nickelback, yes of course). It was an environment unlike anything I had ever been in before, and I loved being able to hear my favorite songs and see the artist in the same room as me. Since then, I've seen hundreds of artists but always remember my very first as the time that got me into the hobby! |
| What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why? | I identify most with my father. We have very similar traits and physical abilities, and although most of my family are athletes, we tend to share the most skills. He also encouraged me from a very young age to go into STEM fields, and now we both have graduate degrees in engineering and have used them in the medical field. We also share musical talent and play piano among other instruments. |
| What character traits do you admire in an individual? | I admire accountability and humility. Being able to admit when you are wrong or are not knowledgeable in a subject is rare, so recognition of that is admirable. Understanding how your actions affect other people other than yourself and taking responsibility from the outcomes is also very impressive. |
| What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? | I sometimes work in concert security, and once I was working on a hard rock show with crowd surfers. We would be catching 2-3 people per song and sending them back into the crowd, and one of the last surfers that I caught (had to double take after I caught her) ended up being my ex-girlfriend from high school. We talked after the show for the first time since high school graduation, she was staying with a friend (since she lived across the country) and didn't know I even lived in the area. The coincidence was so funny that it is such a small world! |
| If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why? | I would love to travel to Southeast Asia. I've seen how different our cultures are and would love to experience life on the other side of the world. It has been recommended by so many people, and every time I learn something new about those countries, I am more motivated to go. |
| When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? | I would love to pass on my gifted genetics in height, hair, and eyes, as well as natural athletic abilities and good metabolism. I would love for them to discover a hidden musical talent as well and find joy in making and listening to music. I also hope that they learn a good sense of humor, whether from me or their surroundings. |
