What is your most memorable childhood experience?I was definitely a very excitable child, so for me it was when I started to excel in sports. It was something that I was good at effortlessly and brought me so much happiness. In particular, the first year playing full-go baseball where I hit over .500 and had almost 25 home runs. Mind you I was probably 10, but this was the moment I knew athletics would take me places in life.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I identify most with my mom and my grandparents; they are my everything. My mom had me pretty young, so my grandparents were a huge part of my upbringing. But my mom sacrificed her 20's so that I had a great and fulfilling life. That's something that I will forever be thankful for!
What character traits do you admire in an individual?I truly appreciate people that can work well with others, from sports to work. Having the ability to grow and develop with others will help you succeed in all aspects of life. You can be a leader but also a team player, having a team of leaders will really catapult anything those individuals work on. I try to surround myself with those like-minded individuals.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?When I owned my gym, comedian Shane Gillis bought a day pass when he was staying in town. It was so funny because I was working with a client and totally fanned out over seeing him. After my session I went up to him and this man was just effortlessly the funniest person I've ever met. After that he hooked me up with backstage passes to his show and after a few beers this guy had me in tears for 2 hours straight.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?I would travel all around Europe. I've previously been, but each stop was too short. I'd love to take six months and fully divulge myself into different European cultures. Most specifically Greece, my favorite place I've been, and it was never enough time.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?I just want them to know they can truly do anything in this world. Just because you come from a certain place or a certain demographic the world is at your disposal, dream big and achieve more. That is the most priceless piece of advice I've ever received, and it truly changed my life.
