Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience? One of my most memorable childhood moments was learning to ride a bike. I won the bike at a contest. I was nervous at first, because I’ve never had or been on one, but once I got the hang of it, I couldn’t stop riding around. It felt like such a big moment of independence as a kid.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I closely identify with my father because we both have made sacrifices for our kids. I slowly learned all the things he went through, in a way, which made me appreciate him a lot more than I already did.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?I really admire people who are kind to others without expecting anything in return. I also like when someone has a passion and isn't afraid to talk about what they love or want to do. Either hobbies, work or goals, whatever brings passion to their eyes. That kind of energy is inspiring.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?As a kid, on a windy day, I opened my jacket as wings and since I was so skinny, I was carried away like 4-6 feet behind me and I got like 2 feet high in the air. I was very lightweight.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?I’d travel to Japan because I love the culture, food, and overall vibe. They also have some unique and visually amazing places like themed museums and wild waterparks. It seems like a fun mix of peaceful and exciting. Definetely their Disney park is on my bucket list.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?I’d want to pass on my ability to empathize with others and keep smiling even in tough situations. I think those two things can really help you get through life. They’ve helped me a lot personally.
