| What is your most memorable childhood experience? | My most vivid childhood memory is watching baseball games with my dad on the little TV in our garage. While working on whatever needed to be worked on or fixing whatever needed to be fixed, there would often be a game on. The voice of the broadcaster and the melody of the network's theme bring back these memories, and my dad and I still connect over the happenings of out team. I also learned how to fix a thing or two. |
| What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why? | I closely identity with my mom. She has shown me the value of education and hard work, earning a Doctorate and going above and beyond with work at her job and raising me. My mom will put her head down and do what needs to get done, which I identify with, almost to the point of a weakness at times. As I work through challenges of my own Undergraduate Degree, I find inspiration through her. My mom's support of me has also been a huge asset and taught me the importance of helping others. |
| What character traits do you admire in an individual? | I admire someone that stands up for what they believe in. It takes courage to be held accountable to your beliefs and to not be a bystander for wrongs in the world. I believe this trait has become more important in recent years. |
| What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? | The funniest thing to happen to me has been getting to know my close friend. When I moved in 5th grade, I met him and his mom walking their dog and I thought he was cool. Later, on the bus for the first day of school, he was completely different, showing a crazy side to his personality. We became closer friends and went on fun adventures throughout middle and high school. Now, we both attend the same university as roommates and we can always have a funny conversation to brighten any day. |
| If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why? | I would love to be able to travel to outer space. It would be magical to see Earth from above and get a perspective for the scale of everything. It would also be awesome to be part of cutting-edge science there. |
| When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? | When I have children, I would like to pass on an ambition for greatness. I believe everybody has something they can contribute to the world, and I would like my children to make the most of what they are gifted with. Whether for helping others, feeling accomplished, or making a difference, ambition would help them. |
