| What is your most memorable childhood experience? | The first thing that came to mind was when I was 10 years old, and my basketball team got invited to play a game at our local professional team’s stadium. We played for a few hours before the team took the floor. We got to meet the players and get autographs. The Lakers also happened to be the ones coming to town, so I got up close with Kobe Bryant during his MVP season run, one of my favorite players at the time. It was a really cool experience that I'll never forget. |
| What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why? | I most closely identify with my dad. As lame as I thought his hobbies were when I was younger, I, too, am now an avid rock climber and like playing volleyball. We share a lot of the same interests besides being active, like politics and investing. I've also been told we look and act the same. We are both logical people that put trust in data and scientific research, which is probably why we both became engineers. Lastly, we are both driven and passionate individuals that give 110% into whatever they are interested in. |
| What character traits do you admire in an individual? | I admire people who are passionate. Regardless of someone's interests, I really enjoy seeing and learning from people that are extremely passionate about something, whether it's their work or a hobby. I also admire people that are driven. It's natural to find purpose when pursuing consistent growth and improvement, so I admire when people are motivated to do those things. Lastly, I admire people who don't care what others think about them. |
| What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? | When it was happening, it wasn't so funny, but my family still thinks it's hilarious to this day. I went on a camping trip with some friends. I brought some silverware, including a knife, to make sandwiches. I then used that same travel bag to go on a trip a couple weeks later and accidentally left the knife in the bag. I was questioned by TSA while my brother was cracking up. Coincidentally I stopped getting TSA pre-check. |
| If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why? | I would visit some of the best rock-climbing areas in the world with some buddies or my dad, likely Spain or Thailand. With my fiancé, I would love a romantic trip to Paris or Italy. I have been to these places with my brother and by myself, but I think it would be really cool to re-experience those things, as well as some new things, with her. If I'm thinking long-term and if technology allows, I think it would be amazing to travel to space someday. |
| When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? | I would hope to pass on some certain genetic traits, like being semi-athletic so I could watch them play the same sports I did growing up. I would like to pass on my values to raise good human beings. Lastly, I would like to pass on some financial knowledge so they can set themselves up for success. |
