Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience? My most memorable childhood experience was spending summers at my grandfather’s farm, where I helped him feed the animals and tend to the crops. I loved listening to his stories about life and learning how to care for the land, which made me feel connected to him and nature. Those quiet, meaningful moments shaped my love for hard work and family bonds.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I closely identify with my grandfather, my mom’s father, because of his unwavering honesty and kindness, which have always inspired me. He had a lifelong love for learning and constantly sought to grow, whether through books, experiences, or teaching others. His values and curiosity shaped who I am today, and I strive to carry on his legacy in my own life.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?I deeply admire empathy and honesty in an individual because they reflect a person’s ability to connect with others genuinely and act with integrity. These traits inspire me to be a better person and contribute positively to the people around me.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?The funniest thing that ever happened to me is realizing that all my dreams seem to come true, but always with a twist of hard work and a bit of luck. For example, I dreamed of moving to the U.S., and it actually happened—but only after I won a visa lottery, which felt like fate was playing a joke on me! It’s both hilarious and humbling to see how life combines effort and unexpected surprises to make dreams a reality.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?If time and money were not an issue, I would take a five-year-long around-the-world cruise to explore every corner of the globe. I’d immerse myself in different cultures, try new foods, and witness breathtaking landscapes, all while learning the stories of people from every walk of life. This journey would fulfill my dream of truly understanding the world and its incredible diversity.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?I strive to pass on the value of continuous learning, encouraging them to stay curious and grow throughout their lives. I teach them to find their own unique path and pursue what truly fulfills them, rather than following societal expectations. Most importantly, I hope to inspire them to make meaningful contributions to creating a better world, no matter how big or small their impact may be.
