| What is your most memorable childhood experience? | It's a bittersweet memory, but it's of spending time with my grandfather towards the end of his life. I would get home from school before anyone else, so I would help feed him and we would sit and talk for hours or play silly little games that I came up with. He was also a big movie buff, so he would show me all the classics. So many people talk about not having enough time with passed loved ones, so I hold on to the time I spent with him dearly. |
| What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why? | My sister would have to be the obvious choice. We, like most siblings, didn't always get along growing up, but when the chips are down, we always have each other's backs. We haven't always lived the most charmed lives, but I know I can count on her no matter what. |
| What character traits do you admire in an individual? | Above all else, I would have to say kindness. It's so easy to let the world turn you cold and hostile, so anyone that can hold on to their kindness in even the grimmest times has my respect. I also respect ingenuity, I don't think anyone needs to be the smartest, but being able to use and apply what you know is something all people should strive for. |
| What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? | Once, during a family outing to a mall, we were all walking up to the large glass entrance. I was pretty young, and my grandmother was visiting, so I was flooding her with inane child chatter and not paying attention. So, with that, mixed with the fact I guess they had just cleaned the windows, I walked full force into a solid glass wall with a resounding thud. It was an almost cartoonish noise that echoed into the entrance drawing the eyes of everyone around, and while at the time it was mortifying, I look back at it and laugh. Plus, I got an ice cream out of it, so a win is a win. |
| If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why? | I would want to do a tour of Europe, hitting all of the wonders of the world. I've never gotten the chance to travel outside of the U.S., so it sometimes feels like I've missed out on a lot of worldly cultures. I also have a strong adventurous streak that would be delighted at the chance to just roam. Though, if saying all of Europe is cheating, I would say Ireland just because I think it's beautiful and I love the accents. |
| When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? | If we are talking genetically, I would want to give them my sturdy constitution. I almost never get sick, and when I do the symptoms are mild, so them having that would give me peace of mind. If we're talking more nurture, I would say either my mentality, or my cleverness. I believe that mindset can get you most of the way towards anything you want to achieve, and I also think I'm quite the problem solver, so if I could pass both of those on, I would like to think they would be set up for success. |
