Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience? One year I spent several weeks building a Soapbox Derby car with my family. We handmade the entire car from wood, we spent hours and hours sanding, painting, and lacquering. We ended up with an incredible looking car for that year’s race.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I'd say I most closely identify with my father. He strongly encouraged me toward entrepreneurship as I matured. Without his help and guidance, I would not have been able to make my startup a success.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?I admire determination, the drive to never settle for what life hands you, and the willingness to overcome any obstacles in the way. I also value humility in a person: someone who treats others with respect, never looks down on anyone, and gives everyone a fair chance.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?Nothing comes to mind.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?Travel is one of my greatest passions, and I have a special appreciation for Latin America. During my time in those countries, I even learned Spanish. If I had to choose a favorite destination, I’d probably say Argentina.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?I want to pass on a strong work ethic and the belief that nothing in life should be taken for granted. I want them to understand that success doesn’t come easily and that if they want to achieve their goals, they’ll need to work hard for it. I’d hope to teach them the importance of staying humble, being grateful for what they have, and always pushing themselves to strive and improve.
