What is your most memorable childhood experience?Playing capture the flag with my babysitter's kids was fun. My younger brother and I would always look forward to sleepovers at their house. Her sons were a couple of years older than us and were like our brothers. We still keep in touch to this day.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I identify most with my father. He was somewhat of a black sheep in his family and was the only one to leave Scotland and make the life he wanted. His self-reliance and resilience are major motivating factors in my life.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?I admire people who are kind, humble, and selfless.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?During a two-week college summer inter railing trip through Europe, I happened to run into 3 people from my high school. If you've ever been to small town, you'd understand. Bizarre didn't quite cover it.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?I would go back to Japan. I haven't been since I was 8 years old. The culture is incredibly unique, and the people are great. I'd love to be able to experience that again soon.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?When I have a family, there are a couple things that I'd like to pass onto my children: having a passion for life, being kind to others, a strong work ethic, and the ability to have fun.
