Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience?I have had so many memorable childhood experiences thanks to the care my parents gave me. Most memorable I would say is all the camping and backpacking I did with my father and friends through Boy Scouts of America. By the time I was 18 I had carried a pack at least 1000 miles through the forest with my longest trip lasting 21 days including 2 of which I slept alone on the side of a mountain.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I come from an amazing and loving family. But was exposed to an extraordinary violent situation as a child which in many ways set me apart from my family personality wise. So, I don't identify closely with any of my family as loving and supportive as they are.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?I admire resilience, determination, and compassion for others. In my mindset life is hard for everyone so those that carry their burdens with strength and reassure those around them are the most admirable of individuals. It’s who I strive to be.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?Got a call as a volunteer firefighter for a car running into a house. Got there and instead of a car crash we found a naked guy.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?I'm not big on self-indulgence and have traveled the world already. In those travels I have seen terrible suffering. If time and money were no issue I would go back to those places and try and help some of those children.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?I want to pass on the mindset that life has never and will never be fair. But it's still beautiful, worth living and worth fighting for.
