Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience? My most memorable childhood experience would have to be in the summer of my 10th year at my grandparents’ countryside house. It was a day which involved me going down to the crystal-clear water river with my grandpa and uncle on horseback. I was riding my own horse through the valley for the first time to go give it a bath. The long ride involved going through steep forestry terrain. It was such a beautiful morning with sun rays penetrating the tree canopy. Once at the river I remember swimming till exhaustion and bathing my horse, Johnny. Once back home, my grandma prepared the best pork meal I've ever had. All in all, a perfect day.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I'd easily say that I identify most with my mom's brother. His sense of humor and interests are very similar to mine. We both enjoy sports, mainly baseball. Since I was young, I've accompanied him to work and sporting events, so he really shaped my work ethic and drive.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?Honesty would be the most admirable trait a person can have, along with multiple others. Honesty I deem the most admirable mainly because it displays other character traits such as courage and benevolence. Having strong willpower is a trait I also admire immensely because it shows how determined and focused a person can be, which results in the achievement of set goals.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?The funniest thing happened to me in the sixth grade. My dad came to pick me up at school for the first time ever, having not met the staff of my school before. He asked about me at the front office, but the principal and the secretary just could not fathom he was my dad at all and instead thought he was a family friend who came to pick me up. I was told that someone was at the school for me and I needed to verify who he is by looking at him from a distance first and to also contact my mother for confirmation. I was really scared thinking who could this person be. Was stranger claiming to know to me to try and kidnap me? Am I gonna be in trouble? Once I saw it was my dad I instantly laughed and said that's clearly my dad! My dad was a bit offended, and my teachers were very apologetic about it.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?If I had multiple millions in my bank account, I'd travel all over Europe for sure. The old continent is my favorite destination for vacation. Spain, Portugal, and Italy would be the main countries, with the Mediterranean weather, extensive historical influence, and delicious gastronomy. I would visit all the museums and soccer stadiums as well as swim at all the beaches. Europe just seems so idyllic in every way, and ever since I visited Italy, I've never thought of living anywhere else.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? When I have children there's so much that I'd love to pass onto them. Mainly, the love for life and humanity and the love for travel and discovering new cultures and places in person. Of course, I want them to have a strong inclination towards sports and academics because education and physical fitness are the keys to a healthy, successful, and happy lifestyle.
